The virus isn't shown the "startup items" list in step one. But sure enough it has hijacked my machine. What to do when it doesn't show up in the list?

You should find it in your system service. If you don't have it there, start with step two. Pls remember to restart the affected computer after you finish those steps.

My mac doesn't even have a "users and groups" section under system preferences and when I search my computer nothing comes up. I clicked on "Accounts" but that didn't show me any ways in which I might be able to delete the virus. Is there a more complete set of steps for Mac Users somewhere else?
